Attainable Change

“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”

James Baldwin

Our world has dramatically shifted its focus to a glaring ongoing social issue in the midst of a pandemic. An issue that has forced us all to stop, reflect and discuss the need for change. The change that needs to happen is attainable.

Wether we are part of the problem or not, we can be part of the solution. Unfortunately, the things that require the most attention are the things we tend to put off the most. If it is continually ignored or overlooked, we will never attain the necessary change.

Change is Voluntary

How can anything we do make a difference? Our shift in mindset is voluntary. Change begins within ourselves then our influence cascades onto others.

What direction we influence independently relies on each of us. The only way to make change happen is by participating and beginning at a practical starting point; our own home. The first place we influence.

Change is Spoken

Speak life into your family by speaking positive of others. Different opinions, different beliefs and lifestyles are luxuries that compliment our freedom. What you audibly discuss in the home eventually takes part of the identity and personality of the entire family. This is heavily driven by the mentality we lead with.

Change is Intentional

Nothing will ever change for the better until we face the brutal reality that a problem does exist. Commonly, the decision for change happens when the situation arrives at its worst. Once it does we realize, “something needs to change.” This will not happen for us nor happen without intentionality.

Our actions often speak louder than our words. However, our words can cause surmountable damage. A combination of our words and positive daily behavior can cause an equal amount of change. What we speak around others will either inspire change or persist on the status-quo.

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Proverbs 18:21
